our glossy white glaciers are now yellow.
our sky looms over us and turns the world orange,
we look down at our skin and are reminded that
we will soon burn too.
reminded of the people forced off their land only to watch it scorch into non-existance.
reminded that it’s a consumer’s world
and we feed the monster.
reminded that our clothes are painted orange because we are all culprits of this disaster.
the moon tonight screams out in pain
and as the torturers that we are
all we do is watch.
